The Mnazi Bay Concession covers a 756km² area in south-eastern Tanzania, bordering Mozambique. In 1981, ENI drilled a shallow water, offshore well and discovered the Mnazi Bay Gas Field.

Basketry and mat weaving has proved a rewarding entrepreneurship among Umoja group established in 2014. During its establishment, none of the group members had a clear idea about the issue of land right. There was little knowledge on the subject as far as conflict resolution was concerned. Perhaps the knowledge about land right issue was not so important to them at that moment.

‘Implementing the Paris Agreement. New Research Solutions for Developing Countries’
The Paris Agreement reached at COP21 in December 2015 was a key milestone in fighting climate change. But much support is still needed to help developing countries explore new ideas and approaches to implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The GCPC will provide a platform where climate policy makers and international researchers can meet to explore options, suing a mix of bottom-up approaches – developed by the research community – and top-down approaches from the policy community.

The Anglophone Africa Regional Extractive Industries Knowledge (REIK) Hub would like to inform interested individuals and organisations of its annual summer school on oil, gas and mining governance, which will take place 5-16 September 2016 in Accra, Ghana. The knowledge hub was established by the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) in collaboration with German International Development Cooperation (GIZ).
