Large number of applications for Revenue Watch training

TJournalists from various media houses in the country have beaten the deadline and have sent in time their applications to participate in the training workshop on coverage of oil, gas and mineral sectors. Revenue Watch Institute which is organizing the workshop in collaboration with the Journalist’s Environmental Association of Tanzania (JET) had set April 30, 2013 as the deadline for submission of applications for the workshop which is scheduled for July this year.
The workshop will be conducted in Dar es Salaam with field trips earmarked for Arusha and Mtwara.
 
Early and mid-carrier journalists were encouraged to apply for the training. By the end of the deadline, 38 applications from both print and electronic media had been received. The next step is for a selection committee comprising JET leaders and some partners to scrutinize the applications and pick not more than ten journalists who will join a similar number of journalists from Uganda and Ghana to undergo the training. Successful candidates will be informed not later than June 15, 2013. Below are the names of the applicants:
